Using version 7.0.8. I have had several complete contacts that failed to log. When I looked in the VarAC Log file for the most recent failure I see messages like:
01/04/2023 22:50:04 - Unable to log QSO with XXXXX ,missing information (I changed the real call to XXXXX for this example)
Upon further research, I noticed that RST-S was not filled in during the contact, even though I sent a report (just before a QSY request). When I entered the RST-S number I was then able to log the contact using the LOG button (ADIF file and UDP to my logbook).
Even though it didn't have the RST-S number (maybe that is the bug), it seems like it should have logged the contact anyway? Or provided an on-screen error message? 73 Bill WT0DX
Thank you Bill for reporting!
FINALLY I was able to reproduce.IT happens in the following scenario: 1. You have NO welcome message configured (empty) 2. Someone connect you. In this scenario - your First sending of SNR is not recorded locally. Thank you for providing this super important information! Now fixed. will be out in V7.1 Irad
Can you check in your log if before this QSO was an incoming/outgoing ping ?
Thank you. This is helpful. Just a quick question:
Can you tell me who many times in general you witnessed this behavior ? Is it consistent or sporadic ? always with the same person maybe ?
I will need to see a VarAC.log section of the whole QSO as well as the data stream (VarAC_traffic.log) section of this to analyze. Please upload those sections here for inspection.
