VarAC rewriting .ini on launch

running Vara modem on a linux box on my network and using FlRig for control

connecting VarAC to modem via TCP from a Xubuntu laptop

which all seems to work just fine

except when launcing VarAC on the the laptop it insists on trying to launch a local instance of VaraHF

it tries 3 times and gives up and brings up the VarAC which works fine

in the settings dialong I have wiped the VaraHF command, but the next time I launch VarAC it rewrites the entry and

goes thru the 3 attempts, fails and brings up the interface

I tried to edit the .ini file manually and it still rewrites it

this is not a show stopper as VarAC seems to work as it should on the remote laptop
