Greetings,
I have installed the program as is and also with OmniRig and get the same result. When I select USB-D the radio switches to RTTY-R. Has anyone figured this out?
I have tried tweaking the Hex formula and have been able to change the modes, but not turn Data mode on, it must be a subset and I am not that versed in this computer language.

Newbie configuring with IC 746 Pro. PTT and freq control working as it should, but switching to RTTY on transmit? VARA HF 4.7.1 and VarAC 6.4.15?
So it was the 88 that fixed it?
I just d/l the manual and the address for a IC-9100 by default is 88. if you did not change it on the radio the command should be:
ModeUSB_D=FEFE88E01A060101FD
I am KY4K BTW
I am having the same RTTY problem. Gary do you think you can help me I have an IC-9100... cant figure out the command. Thanks
I dont own a 7410 but I downloaded the 7410's manual and the info in the manual I would use:
ModeUSB_D=FEFE80E01A0601xxFD where xx is 01 or 02 or 03 depending on which filter you want to use (highly recommend 600Hz)
I have an Icom-7410 that has the same issue. I wonder if the command strings are the same for the IC-7410 as the IC-7200
Great, that will get you by for now.
Gary, that did it, switches correctly now! Thanks a lot!
Bob, for the fun of it, in the ini file under the 7200 section:
Replace ModeUSB_D=FEFE76E00608FD
With ModeUSB_D=FEFE76E01A040103FD
And report back
Further looking at the 7200 manual it seems that you may need 2 commands for the 7200 to set the Data mode, other Icoms can do this all in one. First you need FEFE76E00601FD to Set USB then FEFE76E01A040103FD to turn on Data mode and narrow filter.
Irad, can VarAC be made to send 2 CAT commands??
OK, I dont own a 7200 but downloaded the manual. I see an issue with the ini file. For USB_D the command string is ModeUSB_D=FEFE76E00608FD which per the 7200 manual is indeed RTTY.
Yes, I did. The settings for IC-7200 were identical.
Did you update the rig file to the most uodated version (2.0) ?
Need a bit more info and maybe a screenshot of your VarAC settings, otherwise we are just guessing in the dark.
