When VarAC boots up it switches Radio to RTTY-R using the Cat Frequency controls, Cat selection is set for USB-D.
I dropped the supplied INI file for Cat commands into my folder.

Thanks to Rick Hanzlik JR for this solution to my problem, you would need to open the VarAC Cat Command. INI file and change the USB-D line below to fix the change from the RTTY option to USB-D
ModeUSB_D=FEFE88E00608FD -- this line should be
ModeUSB_D=FEFE88E02600010103FD-- This will set the IC-7100 to the USB-D mode and will set the filter to fil3.
If you want fil1, change the 03 FD to 01 FD.
If you want fil2, change the 03 FD to 02 FD
