In the EmComm world, quick notification is paramount. Utilizing the Alert function certainly helps. But only if the operator is right there does it find use. Many operators leave their radio on VarAC when not present. I would like consideration for an Alert to send an email to a phone. In the USA this is a common feature available to our carriers. The email addressed to a phone# creates a text message there. This would be another wonderful tool to trigger a call-up. Thank you for considering this feature request. 73, Rory Griffin W4RJG

Use the VarAC BOT that can provide you with various alerts to your Telegram app/web app.

Jan,
I have never seen any definition of EmComm that cannot use phone or email. EmComm is a generic term covering any and all types of Emergency Communications. When police respond to an emergency, or a fire apparatus, wildfire team - they can use those tools. When the earthquake hit Turkey they used phones and email. Specifically in the Amateur Radio world, this is also true. There are efforts to ensure emergency groups here in USA to be able to function for our served agencies without any means of communication, except what we bring to the emergency. But no group I no of anywhere in this country, nor Canada, train ONLY for a Amateur Radio RF capability only. 73 Rory W4RJG
'In the EmComm world', there are no such things as communications through phone and/or email.
Cheers, Jan PH3J.
