In the end, a QSO is QSO. Attended or un attended.
Our regulations requires us to log every QSO we make. Some FT8 programs like (JTDX) can make unattended QSOs and they are logging it all. Every winlink station maintain a log of incoming connection (even without SNR).
If a person chose to log all incoming connection to his stations - he has the freedom to do so and I don't think its the program responsibility to force any decision on the user.
Those who don't log every QSO are violating the very basic rule of logging all QSOs so I cant force this kind of behavior on the end user. If a user is so concern about logging, he has the freedom to turn it off and log manually those QSOs he want. Both options are on the table for the user to chose.
Bottom line (in my opinion) :
I leave my station open. you connect. I want to know that and log it. Its my choice. and its a legit choice for me to make.
Hi @Zeev Stadler 4X5ZS. I gave it some extra thoughts based on this thread
