I've went back to 3.2.1. I've been pinged repeatedly today, which itself isn't disagreeable, but I'm tired of hearing the incoming request notification for a ping. Additionally, my connect string gets sent.
Can we have an opt out for pinging? JS8Call allows you to disable heartbeating (pinging).
And/or, an option to not notify for pings, as well as to not send predefined strings?
Hi @matt You can certainly opt out from what you call "JS8CALL heart beating". Simply disable beaconing which is the same thing.
Reverting to 3.2.1 will not eliminate people from PINGing you as the PING option is driven by the PINGer side. If you are on 3.2.1 you can still be pinged.
If you don't want people to know you are online and don't want to receive PINGs, you can simply disable Beaconing and only use the CQ options when you are open for a chat.
