I'd like to see an option where a CQ would repeat say, 5 cycles. (Of course, before calling CQ, you'd sniff the slot, to make sure it was clear.).
The way I see this working would be to have the CQ go out again on the calling QRG, after the first waiting period had expired. Then, VarAC would return to the initial slot to listen for a reply If a station answered the CQ, the cycle would stop, and (obviously) after the 5th cycle, the cycle would stop.
I must admit that there seems to be a LOT more VarAC activity "over there" thsn here in the Pacific North West. Yes, there are days when 20, sometimes 10 are filled with CQ calls and beacons, but not often !
I have decided to reject this. Already today 2 CQ are fired. They generate a sound on everyone PCs. and they apear on screen for all users. Having multiple CQs in a row will not only spam with sound alerts many PCs, but will also add more uneeded traffic to the CF.
Rejected,
That makes good sense. One CQ call is rarely successful in my experience.
