QSY and change width upon QSY

When qsying off of the slots to use 2300hz, we have to decide on a frequency, QSY, disconnect, change to 2300 manually, then reconnect. Can a command be made to pick a freq and width, then hit GO, then VARAC takes it from there?

I understand it not being used in the slots, what if it only allows 2300 during the qsy if the freq isnt in the slot sections? the qsy could be normally 500 as it is now, but if you manually select a freq away from the slots, another option pops up allowing 2300 upon qsy.

I am sorry but I do not want to encourage 2300 in any way. I put it there only for ad-hoc use. I already consider taking it back to the settings location (remove it from the main screen).

oof, please don't do that. During nice band conditions I enjoy using 2300 :) Off the slots of course.

2300 is a very useful VARA mode because we can do file transfers much faster than 500 Hz mode especially now that the current Solar Cycle is moving towards the peak. Of course we have to QSY outside VarAC Slots and QSYing via the menus without disconnecting, if possible, would be a good option. 14105 is in the wide bandwidth digital mode portion of 20m according to IARU anyway. Please do not remove 2300 from the main screen.

VarAC does not encourage the use of 2.3K width. especially not on the slot system. allowing this will lead to plenty of QRM. If one want to set a 2.3K QSO he can like I see many invite people using a broadcast to meet on another freq for a 2.3K QSO.

Of course I can code this to be an easy task. but I dont want this to be a too accessible. Left only for the advanced users who are already familiar with the VarAC code of behaviour.

If we can do it manually within the VarAC program, it should be able to be done by a single button I'd think. Varac would just have to do the disconnection, change to wide, and go into reconnect mode without having to hit buttons, plus if both stations have the same command at once, you'd think the connection would go more smoothly.
