This one is more a suggestion than a request but I think it has merit.
When getting the "AWAY" followed by the VMAIL option, we usually write a short msg while being connected on the calling frequency. The connection is actually mostly idling while we write!
In order to speed up things we could transmit while the VMAIL is being written. In order to allow for corrections, only complete sentences could be transmitted.
The idea is to minimise the time we dwell on the calling frequency.
Given the recent increase of Vara stations, this feature might just be a timely measure.

I have decided to reject this request. Putting aside the complexity of developing it and the many edge scenarios, I am convinced this will create more pressure on the CF. While you are composing a VMAIL the freq is mostly idle but it is still available for people to Call CQ/Beacon. But in your suggestion VarAC will keep the frequencty busy will sending many short packets with small number of bits rather than small number of packets of large messages in a higher speed level. Of course in SL1 and low SNR it might not be the case, but in an avarage use case, sending small packets is less effective then sending large packets in high speed when it comes for frequency occupation..
