QSY to slots

Now that slots have been introduced I think it will useful to modify the QSY button to qsy not only to a generic frequency to be entered but to qsy to a defined slot with the 10 slots available as defined in the CALL CQ. In this way if a connection has to be performed on the cq frequency for any particular reason it will be easy to qsy to a particular slot directly without manually entering the frequency.

Looking for the way to use a custom frequency and DEFEAT slot selector to have QSO on the custom frequency. I have read the manual, I’m just too dumb to figure it out. All help appreciated, including electronic dope slaps.

I did not understand you question Tim. Please clarify.

When calling CQ - you can only decode a Slot. not a custom freq.

After connection you can QSY anywhere you want.

You can disable the Slot selector completly (there is a settings for that) but this is for places where you establish your own callinf frequency with your friends outside of the VarAC slot system.

CQs are short transmissions in slow speed (for best reception even at -21DB) so they can only containt a callsign and a destination slot ID. nothing more.

Irad - Yes. I am on a custom frequency and wish to call CQ. I am establishing a calling frequency outside the VarAC slot system (14.088.000) and wish to remain on that frequency after calling CQ. I haven't found the setting to disable slot selector - temporarily. Using latest version of both VarAC and Vara.
