Is there anymore news on varAC with vara FM ? I know your busy but I wasn’t sure if you made any progress.
We are all very impressed with varAC so far and I agree with others that would like a spell checker as my
spelling when typing quickly is not good.
Vara-FM works just fine with my gateway. After some reflection it is not likely that anyone would use VarAc-FM at 2M frequencies. Most can't reach fare enough on 2m to make it practical for VarAC. Just use Winlink P-to-P for local messaging.
Thanks to everyones comments.
Most users would use different transceivers and PTT methods for VARA-FM & VARA-HF. So a dual configuration is required also for PTT method.... Therefore the best approach would be to have 2 VarAC installations one configured for each. this way you can QRV simultaneously on HF and FM. This is what other VarAC users that use both are doing and they are happy with this configuration as it provides them with all the flexibility they need.
Moved to in development
Done. will be released in V3.
I will add support to varafm with the cq and beacons soon.
Most of the time I have both open, Winlink+Vara HF and VarAC+Vara FM. So you know what happens when I close VarAC, it close the vara on winlink.
In the same way that I insert the exe adrress, this info can be use to close the proper program? No rush on this issue, there are more pressing matters.
I set the second instance of VarAC v.2.7.2 for Vara FM. On startup it open the Vara FM but when it close Vara FM remains open. Do I need to create some special scrip for that?
I have installed a second copy of VarAC to my PC into a directory named VarAC-FM.
I have copied the application shortcut to my desktop also named VarAC-FM and pointed the main config of that instance of VarAC to Vara-FM when it's all configured I can click VarAC-FM on my desktop and open VarAC configured for FM and Vara-FM opens with it. Clicking the desktop icon for VarAC-HF the shortcut open VarAC configured for HF and VARA-HF. I also changed the port for FM to 8400. If anybody needs help with this, message me via e-mail via QRZ.com cheers Dave (MW0RUH).
