Remote modem AFC data

For cases where a station may have an excessive frequency offset, the Vara HF modem AFC measured data would be useful for making adjustments at the distant station. I had such a case recently where I manually forwarded AFC measured data. The distant station succeeded in making proper TX frequency adjustments. It would be nice if VarAC could forward the AFC measured data automatically upon request. This would benefit especially those stations with older radios.

I am not aware of AFC data being shared by the VARA modem. have you seen such ?

Well, the modem must have the data because it is displaying it at the end of the transmission of the distant station. The AFC "meter" is located to the left of the S/N "meter" on the modem screen. I am not sure whether the AFC data is shared in any way. We may need to ask Jose.
