So you use VarAC and OmniRig. but you want VarAC to set your frequency with the narrow filter FIL3 instead of the default filter FIL2. So here is a quick solution:
Close VarAC and OmniRig.
Go to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Afreet\OmniRig\Rigs" (or where OmniRig is install)
Look for the file IC-7300-DATA.ini
Open it with a text editor.
Look for this section (that starts with [pmDIG_U] and replace with this:
[pmDIG_U]
; These lines select USB-D for USB digital mode
Command=FEFE94E0.2600.01.01.03.FD
ReplyLength=16
Validate=FEFE94E02600010103FD.FEFEE094FBFD
Make sure your OmniRig is set to IC-7300-DATA:
Make sure your VarAC is set to USB-D
That's it.
Enjoy :)

Irad,
could you please help me out with an OmniRig issue on my IC-705? I would like to set FIL1 instead of FIL2/3.
I tried to accomplish this, but did not understand how exactly to adjust the command in the IC-705-DATA.ini.
Thanks in advance & 73,
Stefan | DK5SM.
The same happens in my other PC where I have my IC-705 when I try to do the same in my IC-705. When I rename the original IC-705-DATA.ini to IC-705-DATA-OLD.ini, the renamed file appears in the list of Rigs. When I dare edit it, it does not appear in the list, although the edited file is physically there!
I am probably doing something daft here, but in Athens when I edited the FT1000MP.ini file, it appeared OK! Hi hi hi!!!
I am probably doing something daft!
I examined your file @Demetre - M0SUY/SV1UY .
I guess you tried to edit the section manually and you replaced a 01 with 03 instead of adding it. you should replace the whole section to be on the safe side.
Can't find you e-mail so I sent it with Messenger
Send me the IC-7300-DATA.ini you have after the edit so I can see if my omnirig can read it.
Hi Irad,
Whenever I edit the file IC-7300-DATA.ini my OMNIRIG cannot see IC-7300-DATA, only IC-7300. At 1st it loses the settings altogether and it shows NONE in the Rig Type field, but when I try to select IC-7300-DATA, I can only find IC-7300 in the list.
When I open the file IC-7300-DATA.ini using Notepad++ and try to save it, it says that the file cannot bewritten and if I want Notepad++ can run in Administrator mode. I selct yes and I close the old Notepad++ session. In the new Notepad++ session which is now open as administrator, I make the amendments you proposed and save.
After saving and restarting VarAC, CAT does not work because IC-7300-DATA is not there in OMNIRIG'S List of Rigs, only IC7300 which of course goes to RTTY-D when selected.
When I did a similar edit with the same editor Notepad++ in Athens where I use an FT1000MP in an identical PC running Windows 10 as in here, I remember I did not have the same problem and my Radio did appear in Omnirig's Rig List and it worked using my new settings!
There maybe some magic in England! Too many witches perhaps? Hi hi hi!!!
I looked in the user's directory in my Windows 10 PC to see if PMNIRIG keeps extra configuration files elsewhere but I could not find any trace either an Omnirig or Afreet\Omnirig subdirectory!
Any ideas anybody please?
