Greetings! I just posted this to the FB page but also thought I'd post it here. Just a quick question regarding setting ALC. The recommendation in the software is to set the ALC at 1/3 of the bar. It was my understanding that ANY ALC was bad - since that triggered the transmitter to begin throttling back power to prevent overdriving and distortion of signal? I believe no ALC (or just a hint of it kicking in) is what is recommended for FT8. What am I missing here? I'm sure someone in the group can enlighten me. Thanks in advance.

Also very HIGH ALC. WSJT-X & HRD both have an Audio out (Power for WSJT-X) that modulates ALC. Need something like that in Configuration to control that.

That ALC level was recommended by the developer, hopefully he has done extensive testing to prove his recommendations. But that level is pretty much only for the 7300, and possibly the 7610. On my radios I set the ALC right at the point you see it, that still gives me 90W+ @ the 100% level.
