My rig is an IC 7300. Besides VARAC I have it setup for JS8call and WSJT-x. When I transmit a CQ over VARAC HF the voice call sign is getting transmitted on SSB. Did I screw up a setting somewhere? thanks John de N2AOO.

Here is an example of a fellow amateur who has not set the settings of his transceiver correctly for the digital modes.
Every time I (or someone else) transmits on 7.105 mHz or in VarAC mode, the amateur's transmitter comes into operation and neatly transmits the received information to the microphone input instead of the speaker output of the transceiver.
You hear clearly (with a French accent): "...CQ FROM PD8GB.."

I have had this happen a couple times. Appeared to have happened after a windows update. I run my 7300 with audio scope on display and I watch the modulation to confirm that no voice type modulation is happening. It hasn't happened in several months. Steve, AF9X
Check your Windows sound settings. Your output might be set to the ic7300 (something like „USB audio codec“). I‘ve heard Windows sounds during varac QSOs before and that was the reason…
