I don’t find 14.105 to be always busy, although it often seems like users “ping” each other on the channel - which involves an often lengthy exchange of data.
I am QRV most weekday mornings from around 0830 to 1100 UTC, there are few stations around at that time who call CQ, nor many that reply to my CQ calls. It’s a pity as there seem to be a lot who just “beacon” but don’t want to have a QSO (which is the whole point of VarAC)…
understand, might be everybody is pinging each other. Maybe it makse sense to declare ping in the decode window as such without decoding? So one would know what is going on.
14,105 seems to also be a Winlink frequency which can add to the congestion, but mostly it seems to be VaraC that I hear.
You may want to update your VARA HF to the latest 4.6.9 as there were some bugs in 4.6.7
