Feature Requests for Calling CQ

Would it be possible to CQ a specific station that is not presently listed in the beacon window or the CQ Heard window, but who is known to use the VarAC program but hasn't sent a recent beacon?

Another nicety would to be able to add a "CQ DX" call.

BTW I agree with your idea about being able to CQ DX Mike. It would be a nice addition, but unfortunately for the time being it is impossible because VARA supports only CQ and not CQ DX or anything else after the CQ. Perhaps if some of us could convince Jose EA5HVK to include something else after the CQ call on VARA then Irad 4Z1AC could include a CQ DX or otherm abbreviation after a CQ call in VarAC!

BTW I will personally send Jose an e-mail about this but really you should also send him one as well as a many others who I believe are interested! I think that if Jose sees the demand about a CQ DX on VARA, he might put the time to change his program.

Well I hope irad d sees this reply and implements a CQ DX ability in VarAC. Also if what Jose claims is correct then Irad could also add a Locator in VarAC BEACONS which would also be very useful especially if VarAC can be programmed to read a GPS for the station's position.

You can connect with any station on the air even if they dont CQ or Beacon, just type the callsign in.

I typed in the call sign in the "CONNECT" box in the upper-left part of the screen, but that didn't work.

Perhaps I'm stating the obvious, but it you type in the callsign to the right of CONNECT "box", then you must also click on the bluer CONNECT BUTTON, below the "frequency schedule" box to initiate the calling sequence. Your station will try to connect to the callsign you typed in.

Can you elaborate on what "didnt work"? That method has always worked for me. Does it not call that station or are you stating you did not get a connect?
