I downloaded and installed VARA HT and VarAC lat evening and have been trying since then to get this working properly. I can see waterfall patterns and hear the audio quite a bit but nothing is being decoded and put on my screen. I have a Yaesu FTDX-3000 connected via USB cable to a PC running windows 10. PSK31 is working fine for me in both FLDigi and HRD 780. My CAT controls are working fine as well. When I send beacons or CQ requests my transmitter is keying up and the ALC is between 0 and maybe 25% of the range. My power output seems to be varying with the modulated audio. The red BUSY block does come on sometimes when I'm hearing audio. TCP port 8300 seems to be connected. I would really like to try out VaraAC so any help would be greatly appreciated!
UPDATE: All seems to be well now. In looking through some related posts, I found some settings for my rig posted by Freeve and they seemed to do the trick. I'm thinking that changing the data mode from PSK to others may have done the trick.š
It sounds like you've set everything up correctly with your Yaesu FTDX-3000 and Windows 10, and it's great that your CAT controls and PSK31 are working well. Since you're hearing audio and seeing waterfall patterns, but nothing is being decoded, it could be worth double-checking the audio input/output settings in VARA HT and VarAC. Ensure that your soundcard settings are properly configured to match your radio's USB connection. Also, keep an eye on signal-to-noise ratios, as poor conditions could affect decoding. Once you're all set up, it's almost as satisfying as finding the right Dyson V8 sparesĀ for your vacuum cleaner!
