If broadcasts don't work, install Monitor copy of Vara-HF

If you have done everything else recommended by Irad to get broadcasts working, and still out of luck, you may find that installing a monitor copy of Vara-HF, and pointing VarAC to it in configuration, will solve the problem.

The reason this works, at least from my experience, was that it launched Windows Security and asked if you wanted to allow private or pubic access on the PC. This then created the requried Firewall Rules to all TCP and UDP ports for VARA HF Modem.

I understand the feeling! I was going crazy trying to figure out what was wrong. I don't really understand the"FIX" either. I'm sure Irad will have things ironed out in the future. 73, Joe WD4KAV

Hi Mike. I vaguely remember seeing something like that, and (hopefully) gave the correct response. All I know is when I re-booted VarAC, things got all hosed up, with a copy of VARA-HF (not sure if it was the regular or monitor copy) along with a popup nag screen to register. (I have a registered copy). Strange, eh?

In any case, it's all academic now, as I have everything working fine now that the monitor copy is pointed to in the configuration file.
