Make CQ call, but can't connect

When calling CQ, the rig switches to my picked slot frequency and waits. When a station tries to connect, all I transmit is a quick sequence of tones, not may a second or two long and then switches back to receive. After about 30 seconds of this, I get an error message "Better luck next time"

I can connect directly to stations no problem , this only seems to happen when I am calling CQ. Running VarAC V6.4.15 and VaraHF V4.7.2

Any suggestions?

Rig is a Flex 1500. Using CAT for PTT. All CAT control is working fine. Had many QSO's yesterday by connecting to a station that was calling CQ, but when I call CQ and switch to the alternate slot frequency, that is when I am having connection issues.

As the Incomming-connection-reply packet is the shortest one in VARA- seeme like a small delay that is usualy part of SDR can result this. Meaning that the PTT is keys and swicthed off a bit earlier before the whole sound goes out.

I am not an expert in SDRs but maybe @NC3Z Gary can advise on how to reduce this at least for testing purpuses.

You must make sure you are using the minimum buffer size in the SDR and/or lowest latency filters. Without seeing settings or any other info I am in the dark.
