manually editing my .adi log file before upload to LoTW

In a previous post here, i was advised to edit my log file to say DATA instead of the default. I didn't do that at that time because i saw something in the .adi file i didn't understand.

Can I just globally search and replace: <MODE:7>DYNAMIC <SUBMODE:7>VARA HF

with: <MODE:4>DATA ??

And will that make it uploadable to LoTW.

You can just simply have TQSL do the conversion on upload for you.

No need to edit ADIF log. In TQSL Preferences > ADIF Modes, add this mapping:

Will that leave the 2nd part (SUBMODE) still in there?

<MODE:7>DYNAMIC <SUBMODE:7>VARA HF

Or does the SUBMODE disappear when the DYNAMIC gets changed to DATA ?
