No receive, and can't turn down ALC

Hi I am just getting started with VARAC I have set the Cat interface (using a Yaesu FT-450) I can get the rid to TX and call CQ, but I can't turn down the ALC level on the radio, I am using a usb audio interface, I can see on the Modem screen that I am receiving audio, but on the main program window I cannot see any activity (cannot receive and stations) any idea's would be much appreciated, I am using FT8 successfully with WSJT-X and Gridtracker so I think the radio is set up correctly ? regards Alan

Hi still having problems setting Data modes for varac on the Yaesu FT-450 in the D TYPE Menu I select USER - U , But every time I either send a Beacon, Call CQ or even test in Frequency control, it keeps defaulting back to RTTY ?

As I noted the D in the rig ini file selects USER-U but the non-D selects RTTY. I know nothing about Yaesu's so dont know if there is any difference between a D or non-D. But simply editing the ini file will correct it for the way you want to run your rig.
