No RF when transmitting Yaesu FT-847

Hi, everyone,

I'm having a similar issue as described in https://www.varac-hamradio.com/forum/varac-hf-discussion-forum/no-rf-when-transmitting. I'm able to use my FT-847 with WSJT-X and VARA HF without any issues. However, if I try to use it with VaraC or FLDigi, I have almost zero modulation when transmitting. If I turn the power up to the maximum, I can see the power level fluctuate to about 20 to 30 W, where it's steady any other time.

I'm not sure what information you need, so I will attach screenshots of my VARA settings, WSJT-X settings, and VaraC settings. As far as I know, there are no menu entries in the FT-847 that apply to this (per the suggestions in the post I referenced), but I could be wrong.

I have reread your post a few times, I cant see where you listed how you get audio from the PC to the 847?

I guess I missed that. I'll have to look into the instructions to set it up that way. I think I tried setting RTS to High and it transmitted as soon as I clicked OK. Sorry for the delay in replying. I was at work last night, and forgot about this until now.

As for the port, "both". LOL I had them special wire the cable, so it would work with both ports depending on what mode I was using.

That solved it. I don't even know why I had it set up like I did. I guess I assumed I had to have it set to CAT because I thought that's how I had it set on WSJT-X.

Well I was just going by what the manual stated as I dont have Yaesu's I have to rely on a manual. Also this is why it is so important to send screenshots of your settings, it helps us so very much.
