Relaying VMAIL

if there is a station out of my range but there is a station in the middle of us that we can both hear, can you relay vmail through that intermediary? If so how. I've read through the manual and I see a couple sentences on it but I don't see instructions on how to actually do it. Thanks

It's July 2024, VarAC V9.2.3.

I have tried to PARK a VMAIL for relay, following the manual, without success. The VARA log says:"WRONG" with no additional Error messages. What are the exact settings & Mode requirements to succeed?

the WRONG error has nothing to do with relay.

I would need to see the datastream part where this parking attempt.

Try to find it in the VarAC_traffic.log file.

It should show me what text you send and what was the response from the other side.

Generally, you can relay a message you already have in your outbox to X through Y.

The way to do it is to connect Y. and on the outbox, right click and relay it now.

This message will now park at Y's station.

Once X beacons, Y will notify him that there is vmail to collect (this mechanism is called VMAIL relay notification).

Once X connects Y, Y, will automatiaclly forward the relayed message to him.

I tried this multiple times and failed. My station refuses to park my VMAIL, addressed to 'X', on 'Y'. Station 'Y's settings ALLOW RELAYS and PARKING. When NOT CONNECTED OR CONNECTED to 'Y' then Right-clicking 'X's VMAIL, I selected "Relay now through connected station" and "Connected Relay now". [BOTH FAILED] i My VarAC log says: "WRONG" with no additional Error messages. ARE THERE REQUIRED SETTINGS FOR THE ORIGINATING STATION TO INITIATE A PARK? Please show me screen shot by screen shot what you have described in writing.

OK I missed that, so thank you but that leads to a followup question if I may. Is there currently a way to query the network to determine WHO can hear the station you are trying to relay to. I'm not comparing here, as I think VarAC is far superior to JS8 but one nifty feature is you can query and figure out which stations are capable of hearing the station you are trying to relay VMAIL to. Thanks.
