Transferring data on new install

I recently changed to a different PC. One thing I notice is missing the the VMail logs. I've already used SQLiteStudio to look at VarAC.db in both old and new installations. I have 2 records in the new installation and 75 records from the old installation. The only issue is the new db starts with id(s) 1 and 2, which would be 76 and 77 if appended to the old db.

I already know how to move the data. But I want to be sure there aren't any gotchas when doing this.

Also managed to transfer VarAC_qso_log.adi correctly.

Also interested in other files that might require special attention when transferring.

Just simply take your whole VarAC folder and copy it over. Then on the new PC make sure your paths in Settings are correct, such as download directory, ADIF dir, etc.

It's not that simple. I've already used it for a few days and need to merge it with newer data.

A follow up: I've tried to edit VarAC.db directly with 2 different utilities and get an error "no such table: main.folder". This is after attempting to manually insert a record of course on a copy. I've worked with SQL databases for many years, though not with SQLite. Also the vmail table has a new column. There are some foreign keys at play. I think this is a question best answered by Irad.

I can not provide you with any support in mergeing 2 databases. If you choose to go that path - its on your own risk :)

The link I shared can shed more light on what VarAC expect to see in a sqlite database. So if you have missing objects - you might be able to recover them.

I suggest you create a fresh VarAC install on a seperate folder, get an empty and compelte VarAC db structure from there and migrate the missing tables you have
