Due to my old PC, I use EA5HVK's VARA Chat instead of VarAC. I have made several good QSOs. I have learned where to tune based on
a CQ callsign -dash number such as 1 to 5 or 11 to 15 and the 750 Hz slots.
Questions:
1) What does a -9 mean and is there a way to know where to tune? On VARA in monitor mode I can see various digit codes so wonder if
that can indicate the slot for a -9 CQ?
2) Is it ok to use the broadcast feature, in VARA Chat, to say "CQ CQ" and where I'm listing? It has worked for me but want to follow any
guidelines.
When I can afford a new PC I'll upgrade to the nice VarAC program. Any helpful info or suggested documents to read is appreciated.

Thanks for both inputs. I had read that about the future CQ changes. I have called CQ using the Broadcast feature with a line similar to: CQ CQ on Slot 1. Hope that will work in the future. Maybe I'll be able to get a new PC one day. 73 de N4SG
Soon your CQ's will no longer be visible to others or you would have to set a call with a slot to call CQ and then change it again without a slot otherwise there will be no connection possible.
