I am using a Yaesu FT-1000MP Mark-V radio and used windows 8.1 then windows 10 home. I have used VARA (free version) and RMS Express successfully ( PTT and Freq Chg). For VarAC I cannot PTT or change Frequencies. Using VARA HF 4.6.4, VarAC 6.2.4, without Omnirig and with Omnirig 2.1. I tried PTT, VOX, Omnirig ways to connect.
I use a separate folder for VARA HF and VarAC (VARA2). Changed the tcp ports and pointed to the VARA2 folder. I used two laptops and same results. Tried using USB and USB-D modes without success. Any thoughts?

Finaly my setup works with VAraC and the FT1000MP V.
wen VAraC change the frequency the rig swithes to USB, becouse you can oly select USB in VAraC.
The FT1000 has no audio input on the 5 pin packet plug in USB, only in FM, LSB and RTTY. the output to the sound card works ok on this connection. wen you select PKT the rig switch only to LSB or FM.
so i put the audio input to the rig over the phone patch plug, works fine in USB. this is also the microphone circuit, so disconnect the mike or be quiet. do not use the compressor or filtering, let the souncard do the job.
my souncard interface is the yaesu SCU-17. CAT and PTT contrlol on COM 6 (2 stop bits)
See you on VArAC.
As stated in an earlier post, Yaesu FT-1000MP Mark-V needs 2 stop bits. Your OmniRig screenshot shows 1 stop bit.
Use the OmniRig Client to debug CAT: http://dxatlas.com/omnirig/Files/Client.zip
I have recently found that you need to use ' '2' stop bits to get the CAT PTT to work with this rig as detailed in the user manual for the radio. If you change that and all other settings are correct the PTT should now work. Unfortunately when the freq switches it changes the radio out of the packet lower mode to USB which I am looking for a fix for. Hopefully this helps.
The Ports and Modes are not in the equation for this. So do you have any programs that do indeed CAT control your 1000?
Upgraded VARA HF to 4.6.5. VARAC was the latest. No go yet.
A lot of stuff to unpack there. How about some screenshots of settings?
Couple of starting comments:
1. OmniRig 2.1 will NOT work with VarAC
2. Make sure you are running all the latest versions, your VARA HF is not the latest.
