Hi guys, anybody experience this before?
I Went to a friends house today to set up and configure VarAC and Vara-HF for him with omni rig.
As we are only a few miles away from each other I set up 28.105 for us to operate on. If I connect to my home station from his, the radios handshake to an extent but won't connect to each other, when his TX stops, mine is already sounding back to him so I'm assuming there is a header to the TX that his radio is missing to allow the connect.
If I Make the contact from my station we connect instantly and can carry out a QSO.
If he tries to me unable to connect over 15 attempts.
All boxes are green in VarAC due to the close proximity with a +06db average, RF signal is S9+ on the radio S-Meter.
Omnirig has Poll int., ms set at 500 and Timeout, ms set at 100 in each transmitter. Identical radios (both Icom 7100's).
I'm Baffled
Regards
DAVE
cheers Rick i'll look at it.
Hello Dave
I went through this very much in the beginning and a little after we started tested the changes to VaraHA, which helped a lot, however I still had some Audio oddities perhaps the attached document will help
Ok i'll double check these later this evening, but i believe they are the same on both sets, as I used the same program file from my radio when I programmed his.
Hi Dave, I had this issue with Andy GW0JLX and Ian MWORRW and it turned out to be the the audio gain/drive. Mine was set to 50% and his was set to about 25%.
once they increased their gain to the same level as me it worked perfectly.
