I am running a raspi 4 with Jason KM4ACK's Build-a-Pi for many years now. I recently installed RaspiOS and BAP 3.2 which has VARA HF 4.6.5, VARA FM and VARA Chat. I assume VARA Chat is the same as VarAC(??)
VARA HF works through PAT Menu and flrig.
There is a separate VARA menu option VARA that has VARA HF, VARA FM and VARA Chat v 1.3.3.
I have found that using PAT Menu/VARA HF requires flrig, but VARA/VARA HF by itself runs without.
I have not been able to get VARA/VARA Chat do anything after the modem and window opens.
I have set PTT to CAT, the modem is on /dev/ttyUSB0.
When I select CQ or Connect, nothing happens.
So, finding this forum, I downloaded VarAC to the pi and extracted it to .wine/drive_c/VARA_AC .
I then ran wine VarAC.exe and got screens full of error messages about x11settings:X11DRV_ Failed to get L"\\\\.\\\DISPLAY1".
The VARA modem window opened, but with an error message saying there was another instance running. There wasn't.

When I run VARA Chat, Settings, I don't get this screen.
I get a much smaller screen for Callsign, Port numbers, etc. There is also an option for PTT, either CAT, Serial or VOX.
So, what is the command to get the screen above?

Hi Irad,
I ran the script which re-installed box86, wine, and VARA, new install of RMS.
When I ran
wine 'RMS Express.exe'
I got the same errors
0024:err:x11settings:X11DRV_EnumDisplaySettingsEx Failed to get L"\\\\.\\DISPLAY1" current display settings.
After a l-o-n-g wait, RMS Express started up. I filled in the required data for Winlink and connection. In the native raspianOS, I used /dev/ttyuSB0 to connect to the IC-7300, and /dev/ttyUSB1 to connect to the PTC-IIe modem when using PAT Menu. The 7300 setting is Connectors/Data Mod/ACC.

Somewhere, I saw that wine links COM1 to USB1 and COM2 to USB2 so I used COM2 for the modem but it didn't connect. Is there a Device Manager for wine?
Please ignore the Poll, I can't get rid of it. Typing on Chromium on the PI is so s-l-o-w!
I started this some time ago, then tried running different apps. VARA Chat just froze everything, so I left it for a couple of hours.
