Trying to run VarAC on Pi 5 with Wine + Box86 + Box64

in VarAC on Linux/Pi/Mac

I'm trying to get VarAC running on a Pi 5 running standard Raspberry Pi OS with latest patches.

FWIW, I have Winlink + VARA (HF and FM) working very well in my current configuration that consists of:

WINE (with winetricks)

Box86

Box64

I've tried it with Linux mode enabled and disabled with the same results. Same for Advanced mode.

I get a screen open with most of the fields blacked out, as you see below.

(Note, I'm remotely connecting to my Pi 5 using NoMachine.)

Any tips would be appreciated.

Varac with Linux is just a crap...tried it as well with same setup. Have the same picture with Pi5 and Bookworm. All the latest updates are installed. VARA HF is running fine so far. But Varac itself is a nightmare at Linux. Wine is so often crashing and let also die the whole OS. To be honest, im not willing to use this Windows 1 1 stuff and update horror with Windows updates. It would run SO smooth with native Linux. I´ll pay Jose to build a VARA Modem for Linux. Let me know what he will get paid for. If Windows 10 support will end, i also will end using Varac. That´s really sad but it will be my decision than. I´m just moving more and more to Linux already.
