Virtualization, IMHO is far superior to emulation. That's why I always opt to run VaraC in a VM instead of using wine. Not to mention all the trouble installing and maintaining VaraC using wine.
Good news, everyone: Virtualization is now possible on Raspberry Pi, too! Botspot did a great job on making a Windows 11 VM possible with a one-click installation:
In my case, I use a Raspberry Pi 5, 16GB RAM equipped with a NVME HAT that runs the operating system. The Windows 11 VM does run pretty decent, no problems using VaraC whatsoever. It may be possible with less hardware, but it might be less fun.
Vara + VaraC, not being available as native windows application has been a great pain to me ever since I stumbled over that new sound on the bands and discovered that great software which unfortunately is and will always be Windows-only. BVM now makes it possible to use VaraC in my portable setup, too - without any hussle!
