I'm trying to compare the sensitivity/range of the ax25 protocol for broadcast vs varahf beacon/chat. After a previous EDM exercise it seems that beacons really get out,  but broadcasts not so much. Anyone do any testing or have any info? Rob ve3ggr

I'm new here, wanted to say thanks to Irad for developing this software:) I just installed it yesterday, and made my first contact on my first try, over 1000 km's. Had a nice QSO. My question is can this be used for winter field day? We're not allowed ft8 and ft4, so im going to use js8 call but would like to also use varac. I know it's new so we'll be patient. Is there a way to use a custom cq call such as "cq wfd"? Is anyone planning to try it out on field day? Thanks Rob ve3ggr
