A search found nothing about this in previous messages. I just did a reinstall of Win10 to fix driver problems and of the VARA stuff including VarAC. VarAC makes voice announcementsn Sending Beacon, CQs, etc. I am not blind so I do not need audible assistance in this form. I find it VERY annoying and cant find the place to disable it. Initially I was unable to get VaraC to work. It was receiving but couldn't control transmit or frequency. I found that some other program had a lock on the comport. A reboot fixed it.

I just had a connect with WA5YZD on 7105 and it was weird. It is like nothing I sent was being read on his end but when I sent his end was giving ACKs. Tonight while posting some winlink mail, I received a pop up that a new Vara HF was available. I have not installed it yet, choosing to wait until tomorrow after I wake up. I hate doing installs just before bed time. So tomorrow I will take an adventure cruise with both a new Vara-hf 4.5.4 and a new VarAC 3.0.2. It should be exciting! 😎 73 de w8nsi Jim
